The circuit court affirmed a trial court’s decision granting summary judgment to a freight broker who arranged the delivery of a shipment brought by a driver who hit and severely injured the plaintiff. The court determined the broker didn’t have an agency relationship with the driver and the carrier.

The court affirmed the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri’s decision, concluding the plaintiff failed to create a genuine dispute of material fact regarding causation as she failed to provide admissible medical evidence showing she had a nickel allergy.

Judge’s Civil Contempt Order for Zoom Recording Violation Must Include ‘The Keys to the Cell,’ State Appellate Court Says

“The problem is the contempt order does nothing to cure Robinson’s past violation of the court’s prohibition on recording and fails to include a purge provision upon which Robinson’s contempt may be dissolved,” Justice Celia Gamrath wrote on behalf of the Illinois First District Appellate Court.
